OFFICERS INSTALLATION Our Officers’ Installation was well attended by our members and the Divan. We had great support from our Potentate and Divan for our Officers’ Installation. Illustrious Sir Bill Drake installed the Officers, and several of the Divan were on hand to help. Joining Illustrious Sir Bill was Chief Rabban - Jim Brandenburg and his Lady Louise, Assistant Rabban - Andy Metzger, High Priest & Prophet - Patrick Hensley, Oriental Guide - Dennis Kelley and his Lady Kathy, Treasurer - Kyle McEvoy, Marshall - Dean Isbell, and Outer Guard - Lenny Martin. This is the largest outpouring of support we have had from the Divan in several years, and we are really fortunate to have such a great line of active Divan Officers. As always the food was great, and All Occasions Banquet Center did a great job for us. A special thank you goes to the Ladies of Daniel Boone who provided the delicious appetizers. Thanks to Brian and his Lady Julie for providing the music for the evening. They did a great job of song selection, and everyone enjoyed the music. TIP OF THE FEZ TO PRESIDENT BOB HOLSCHER A “Tip of the Fez to President Bob Holscher for leading the team that distributed “tens of thousands” of the Free Child’s Circus coupons throughout the St. Charles area. On February 6th Bob organized a team of around 40 people to distribute Free Child’s coupons in the St. Charles area. Thanks goes out to a few other Daniel Booners like Jerry Lofton, Doc Burt, and Brian Schultz who were there to help drive. The rest of the team consisted of Job’s Daughters, Rainbow Girls, DeMolay, and leaders from each group. After a brief meeting, several teams were formed, and everyone was going in different directions putting tickets in every restaurant, gas station, and business all over St. Charles and St. Peters. When everyone was finished, the teams met for pizza and soda to celebrate their accomplishment! We have distributed these coupons in the past, but it has never been as organized as it was this year. THANKS BOB for your leadership and dedication. CIRCUS TICKETS Circus is just around the corner (March 18-21) at the Family Arena, and every member needs to sell 2 books of Tickets. If you don’t already have tickets, give Mel Myrick a call and he will arrange to get you as many books as you need. Mel’s number is 636-272-5682. CIRCUS NOVELTY BOOTH We will be working a novelty booth again this year. It will be the same one we have had for the past several years. There are 8 performances, and we need 4 people (members and Ladies) for every performance. If every member can work just one performance, we’ll have it covered. Mel Myrick is putting the schedule together, so if you and/or your Lady can work at even one performance, please give Mel a call and sign up. Mel’s number is 636-272-5682. UPCOMING BOARD MEETING February 25th -- Board Meeting at JJ’s Restaurant in O’Fallon. Arrive around 6:30 and order off the menu (separate checks), and at 7:30 the guys will have their meeting and the Ladies will play Bunko. The food is reasonably priced, good portions, and pretty good too! If you haven’t tried their desserts – you really should try one. Call VP Doc Burt at 636-922-5782 to reserve so we have a headcount for the restaurant. UPCOMING DINNER MEETING March 4th – Hatfield’s & McCoy’s on Mexico Road close to Mid Rivers Mall Drive. We haven’t been here in a couple of years, and we have always had a great turnout, and good food -- so we thought we would put it on the calendar and give it a try. Arrive around 6:30 and order off the menu. We’ll have a few announcements, but “Fellowship and Fun” will be the main entrees of the evening. Call VP Doc Burt to reserve -- 636-922-5782.

CONCERNS AND JOYS Our Chaplain Don Baur has been under the weather. He and Lady Shirley were in Mexico enjoying a vacation when the problem began. Don spent a little time in the hospital in Mexico, and when they returned to St. Louis he spent a little more time in DePaul hospital. He is doing better and is expected to go home this week. Hopefully by the time you receive this newsletter he will be at home, so give him a call or drop him a card. Our VP Ron Burt has been experiencing back pain and it doesn’t seem to be getting better. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers, and give him a call or drop him a card. I am sure he would enjoy hearing from you. One of our past members “Bob Alcorn” passed away recently. He and his late wife Helen were active members until they moved out of the area. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. Our sympathy, prayers, or congratulations go out to any of our members who are experiencing concerns or joys.
