WHO WE ARE! The Daniel Boone Shrine Club was chartered in 1964 with Illustrious Sir Boyle Rodes as its first president. Since that time we have had 43 presidents with Noble Mark Rethemeyer now serving as our leader. The club’s purpose is to promote the Shriners Hospital for Children and to increase community awareness of the Shriner organization. We are able to accomplish these tasks by our involvement in community services, fund raising, Shrine Center events, clowning activities, the Moolah Shrine Circus and parades. The Daniel Boone Shrine Club’s covered wagon is a familiar site at many of the parades in the St. Louis metropolitan area. We also have dinner and social events throughout the year. We combine having fun and fellowship in all of our activities. We also have a serious side, club members attend monthly business meetings at a local restaurant. We are able to maintain our camaraderie due to the diversity of our membership. Our club consists of Shriners from the entire St. Louis area. Many of our members are also active in various shrine units. Our Ladies are included in all our dinners and events. We hold casual monthly dinner meetings at local restaurants in the St. Charles County area the first Thursday of the month with our ladies. Our Ladies also come and play bunko while we have our monthly business meetings, which are always preceded by a meal, the last Thursday of the month..
